FAQ

  • Honestly, I think it started before I even realized it was happening. Growing up, my parents had a circle of friends who would all pitch in at each others houses; sharing skills, fixing things, etc. That’s where I formed my beliefs in community care. On top of that, I’ve alwasy found myself gravitating towards leadership roles, even though I didn’t see myself as a “leader”. What I did see were people’s strengths, and how leaning into them help folks feel seen and valued. That instinct eventually led me into a career of building communities through events, partnerships, and strategy.

  • Because I’m black. Because I’m mixed. Because I know that my light skin has allowed me to navigate spaces my darker skinned family and friends found challenging.

The murder of Mike Brown was when I started protesting. The murder of George Floyd was when I realized I had skills I could share to do more.

DEI isn’t just a checklist to me—its personal. I’ve witnessed what happens when DEI is treated like a trend, and I’ve seen businesses fall apart when they stop listening to their communities.

Furthermore, the “browning of the dollar” is real. And if businesses aren’t centering Black and Brown voices, they’re setting themselves up to fail.

  • I built KR Creative to give studios, gyms, and wellness brands real sustainable strategies that center their people. Not trends or buzzwords.

After nearly a decade of going above and beyond in the corporate world to bring thoughtful partnerships, events, and trainings, I felt it was time to utilize my skills directly with the people I wanted to impact, and leave the large corporations behind.

  • I’m wayyyyy more hands-on than most agencies. I’m not here to sit behind a laptop and send you templates. I’m here to dive deep into your business, community, and goals, to bring you sustainable impactful strategies that will drive long term results.

The goal is that we build strategies together that you and your team can sustain, so you’re not dependent on me or any outside agency long-term.

  • Both, but data is my compass. I love creating events and campaigns, but I need to know if what I’m doing is actually working.

    Analytics guide my creativity.

I love exploring turnover rates, membership trends, email open rates, attendance percentage, because when you see what works (and what doesn’t), you can create smarter, more impactful strategies.

I don’t want to be guessing. I want to evolve with my audience.

  • Have you heard the phrase “Everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager”?

People think you can just create a program or event and expect the community to show up. But community engagement is a two-way street. You have to show up for your community if you want them to show up for you.

That means showing up in their spaces, listening, being present. and maybe even going to the run club your client told you about.

  • I play piano (I even teach a few adult students), read morally-black serial killer romance novels, and I’m always looking for a new coffee shop. I absolutely adore being part of a community, and you’ll often find me at one of the many run clubs in the greater Seattle area.

I also love being by myself. Exploring solo is one of my favorite things. I’ve lived in four different countries, and one of my goals is to be like a tourist in my own country.

  • I want to turn KR Creative into a nonprofit. I’m not trying to be a million-dollar agency. I want to build something that supports small business owners, especially those from marginalized communities, to feel financially secure, authentic, and empowered. My dream is to help people follow their passions without burning out or saying yes to everything just to survive.
